Our thanksgiving came a bit early this year. Since moving to Canada the holiday of Thanksgiving moved as well. It is celebrated in October. But being true to the American holiday we packed up our bags and headed south to my cousin Sarah's house, outside Seattle. We passed by the Peace Arch on our way south.
Sarah had never baked a turkey before nor had she ever prepared a whole Thanksgiving meal. With her fiance Eric, Jamison and myself we prep for the 10 person meal.
Sarah and I rolled and cut out gingerbread men.
Jamison had fun icing the little guys.
Eric scrubbed the turkey and infused it with garlic, rosemary and olive oil. Then set out to finish up his meat stuffing while Sarah cooked up some cranberry sauce and mash potatoes.
Mmmm... delicious. The food was great and the company even better. Once dinner concluded we broke out the dominoes and played Mexican Train for 10 rounds. Eric's parents led most of the game and only lost at the very end by two points.
Our next turkey dinner is this coming Saturday and instead of oven baked turkey we'll be treated to grilled turkey. Yeap, grilled. Should be interesting.
