Canada has two official languages... French (as seen on the left) and English (as seen on the right). The interesting thing about this is that everything sold in Canada such as soup, cereal, soda, etc. has to be printed in both languages. So the soup can seen above actually has French on one side and English on the other. We just need to be sure to have the English side facing out - unless we want to work on our French.

Now the English is British English where color is colour and center is centre and theater is theatre (now that's fun to say with an accent). Also ATM's (at least CIBC) are called Instant Tellers - it seems like something you would just add water and poof, money! If only it was that easy. At the bank we use there's an option called "Your Favorite Withdrawal." So if you regularly take out, say $80, then you pick this option among the regular list of withdraw, deposit and so on.

The debit card here is only a debit card. There is no such thing as a check card linked to a credit line which is the norm in the US. When using a debit card you have the option of using funds from any account link to the card such as saving and checking. In the states a debit/check card will only pull from a checking account because a savings account is supposed to help you saving not spend.
